Mission's Sunday

Hey everybody! On Sunday, May 20th we will celebrate Missions Sunday at Oasis. This is an amazing time to reflect on all God is doing through us in Mexico, Cambodia and locally. In culmination of our dollar-a-day fundraiser for our summer Mexico outreach, we will also receive that offering during the service.

Our Cambodian brothers and sisters who meet upstairs will join us for this special celebration. Expect a really fun multi-cultural time and remember to bring your favorite ethnic dish for the amazing potluck to follow the service.  We don’t take for granted the wonderful stewardship that God has given us in Mexico, Cambodia and our own community .  Let’s celebrate together!

How to Have a Silent Retreat Day

On May 5th, we have an unusual opportunity called  How to have a Silent Retreat Day.Have you considered intentionally setting aside a day or half a day to be simply present with God in prayer? Sometimes that prospect can seem appealing, but also overwhelming.  This 2 hour class will give you some helpful hints in how to structure such a day with prayer, reflection, and activities. This is definitely a tool that everyone could use in their spiritual toolbox.

Resurrection Sunday

From Darrell Evans:

Friends,

As winter moves past us and the newness and excitement of Spring enters our world, it is my hope that you’ll find joy in the wonders that surround you. It is often my favorite time to hear and see the birds occupy my yard once again.

Every year, we take the time to celebrate the gift of life that God offers us through His sacrifice on the cross. Without Jesus, we would be left to ourselves, sometimes good, sometimes broken, but all in need of spring to come. Jesus offers us this newness and a life that is full of surprise, hope, joy, and peace. Join us on April 1st, as we come together to celebrate this amazing gift of life.

Please extend this invitation to your family and friends. I would love to meet them!

Corporate Prayer and Fasting

As Oasis moves into 2018, we want to look together for God's direction as a church through corporate prayer and fasting on January 12-14th. Our fast will begin at sundown on Friday the 12th with our first corporate prayer meeting on that evening from 7-8:30 PM.  We'll continue on Saturday evening from 7-8:30 PM and then on Sunday, the 14th from 5-6:30PM, ending with a soup and bread potluck at 6:30

The most important things we can do during this time are...

    1.    Draw near to God, read His Word and pray.

    2.    Next, be sure to join us each night as we come together corporately to pray.  Participate as you are comfortable, but keep in mind that gathering together encourages us all.

    3.    Finally, feel free to fast food/media on whatever level you choose and are able to do.  It is an exciting thing when God's people come in the spirit of Jeremiah 33:3, which says, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."

See you there!

New Year's Day Murder Mystery Party

6:30 PM18:30

New Year's Day Murder Mystery Party

You are invited to hang out with us on New Year’s Day for our annual Murder Mystery Party. Please see details below.

Join us on January 1st at 6:30pm at Deep Space 3 (DS3), near the edge of explored space and frighteningly close to the Black Cluster. DS3 is a busy stopping point for the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Explorers pushing back the border of the known, trade caravans supplying and capitalizing on official UFP and unofficial ventures alike, adventurers looking to prove themselves, and even those who wish to find and exploit anonymity all cycle though the stations docks and ports.

Those with ample means can reserve a table at Euphyria and relish the Heart of Targ or it’s famed Rokeg Blood Pie with Romulan Ale. At the other extreme, there are the Tribble-on-a-Stick kiosks at every intersection in the lower holds. For most there is the Carina Cantina and this is where our story takes place for things are not what they seem and not all is well at this bourgeois watering hole.

Choose to be Andorian, Android, Bajoran, Ba’ku, Bolian, Cardassian, Ferengi, Gorn, Klingon, Orion, Romulan, Tellarite, Vulcan, or your preferred race; even human is marginally acceptable but no named characters please.

But choose quick and choose wise…
for it may very well make the difference…
between life and death; justice or injustice…
—-
Bring a friend, your favorite snack or non-alcoholic beverage to share. As always, extra points will be awarded for creativity.
Children are welcome but childcare will not be provided. Feel free to stop by for photos and to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
